Holy Name Press Releases

Holy Name Partners with Griffin Cares Foundation to Enhance Patient Care and Community Support for Bereaved Families

March 22, 2024

Holy Name is proud to announce a partnership with the Griffin Cares Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support for families who are coping with a pregnancy or infant loss. This collaboration represents Holy Name’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the patient experience through life’s most difficult and challenging moments.

Griffin Cares Foundation partners with hospitals and providers to help connect families who are facing pregnancy or infant loss with peer support from those who have shared similar experiences. Their programs are also created by parents who have experienced loss, as a way to share comfort and resources for families navigating life after stillbirth, infant death, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

"By combining our in-patient bereavement expertise with the valuable resources and support services offered by Griffin Cares Foundation, we can better meet the diverse needs of bereaved patients," said Cedar Wang, Vice President, Nursing Operations at Holy Name. “Supplementing our in-patient care allows bereaved patients to access a resource that families can turn to in the weeks, months, and even years following their loss.”

"We are excited to partner with Holy Name and expand our reach and impact within the community," said Pamela Caine, Co-Founder and Executive Director, Griffin Cares Foundation. "Together, we can create a supportive environment where individuals can find support, guidance, and companionship while healing."

Through collaborative efforts, Holy Name and Griffin Cares Foundation are dedicated to fostering a culture of care and support that extends beyond the hospital walls.
