Holy Name Medical Center Earns 2015 Women’s Choice Award for Cancer Care

July 31, 2015

Holy Name Medical Center has received the 2015 Women's Choice Award, recognizing it as one of New Jersey's 10 best hospitals for cancer care.

The Best Hospitals for Cancer Care list is determined by first identifying hospitals that have received accreditation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Only hospitals that perform well clinically with regard to cancer care measures reported to Medicare and also have a high Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems score are selected. The award criteria include patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and an assessment of what women want for a quality hospital experience.

"Our mission is to provide personalized and compassionate, high quality care," says Michael Maron, President and Chief Executive Officer, Holy Name Medical Center, "and we see that mission fulfilled daily in the Regional Cancer Center. It's an honor to be recognized as a hospital of choice for women with cancer."

"Women are the chief decision-makers for their family's healthcare needs, and we are proud that Holy Name's Regional Cancer Center has been recognized for its commitment to the highest standards in patient care and safety," says Sheryl Slonim, Executive Vice President, Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer, Holy Name Medical Center.

"Women have choices when it comes to cancer care, but now they can make informed choices based on rigorous evidence-based criteria," said Delia Passi, founder of the Women's Choice Award.

The Regional Cancer Center at Holy Name offers leading-edge clinical services in an environment marked by friendly professionalism and respect for every patient. State-of-the-art non-invasive technologies, including fusion PET/CT, high-resolution CT, PET, MRI, breast MRI, extremity MRI and low-dose mammography, produce exquisitely detailed images for diagnostic and treatment planning purposes. Board-certified specialists care for patients in an environment that promotes personalized service and ready access to multiple disciplines. Individualized treatment plans that utilize targeted therapy modalities are formulated with input from medical, radiation and surgical oncologists, pathologists and radiologists; specially trained and certified oncology nurses; and other medical specialists who deliver care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
