Holy Name Medical Center and Six Finalists Selected for NJBIZ Healthcare Heroes Awards, General Counsel of the Year Awards, and ‘Best Places to Work in New Jersey’
Record Number of Finalists Selected; 11th Consecutive Year for ‘Best Places to Work in New Jersey’ list

New Jersey's premiere business publication, recently honored Holy Name Medical Center for the 11th consecutive year by naming it one of the "Best Places to Work in New Jersey.” Holy Name is the only hospital to be named to the publication's 2016 list, which recognizes and honors the state's top employers who show a dedication to their employees' professional growth and quality of life. NJBIZ also named four Holy Name employees, one volunteer, and one department as finalists in two awards programs, Healthcare Heroes and General Counsel of the Year. The six finalist nominations are a record number for the medical center.

NJBIZ's General Counsel of the Year awards honor the state's most dynamic chief legal officers, who are making an impact in their organizations and communities. Holy Name's 2016 General Counsel of the Year, Healthcare Organization finalist is:
- Maryann Kiceniuk, Esq., who began serving as Chief Legal Officer for Holy Name in 2011 and was appointed Senior Vice President and General Counsel in 2014. Ms. Kiceniuk is responsible for all legal aspects of HNMC and its subsidiaries.
NJBIZ's Healthcare Heroes awards honor individuals and organizations that are making a significant impact on the quality of health care in New Jersey. Holy Name's Healthcare Heroes finalists are:
- The Institute for Simulation Learning (ISL) for Education Hero of the Year
Since opening in 2013, the ISL has trained more than 5,000 healthcare professionals, first responders, corporate clients, and nursing students from the tri-state area to advance their clinical expertise, expand their behavioral healthcare capabilities, and improve their interpersonal communication skills.
- Michael Maron, President and CEO, for Healthcare Professional of the Year
Mr. Maron has helmed HNMC since 1997, from its roots as Holy Name Hospital to today's technologically advanced, multi-facility, award-winning Holy Name Medical Center. Mr. Maron has been recognized over the years with numerous awards for his business acumen, dedication to high-quality patient care, and charitable activities.
- Lauren Van Saders, DNP, RN, MS, GCNS-BC, APN-C, Administrative Director of Post-Acute Services, for Nurse Hero of the Year,
Dr. Van Saders, a board-certified advanced practice nurse and specialist in geriatrics and palliative care, oversees HNMC's Home Care Services, Palliative Care Program, DayAway Medical Day Program, Transitions for Care Program, and Hospice Services, including Villa Marie Claire, the medical center's residential hospice facility in Saddle River.
- John H. Rundback, MD, FSIR, FSVMC, FAHA, Director of the Interventional Institute, for Physician Hero of the Year
Dr. Rundback is a board-certified interventional radiologist, researcher, and educator, who leads HNMC's Interventional Institute and its Wound Healing and Limb Salvage Program; Interventional Oncology Program; and treatment services for peripheral vascular disease, gynecologic fibroids, and spinal fractures. He is world-renowned for his clinical research and expertise.
- Robert Orozovich, Lead End-of-Life Doula, for Volunteer Hero of the Year
Following his retirement from the CBS Evening News, Mr. Orozovich joined HNMC's Villa Marie Claire residential hospice in 2014. As lead end-of-life doula, he helps terminally ill patients make their last days about living, rather than dying, by assisting them in creating personalized legacies for their loved ones through photos, poems, artwork and other mementoes.
The General Counsel of the Year Awards finalists will be honored and winners announced at a breakfast at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, N.J., on June 9. Healthcare Heroes Awards finalists will be recognized and the winner in each category will be announced at a breakfast at The Palace at Somerset Park on June 21.
