Holy Name Medical Center First Hospital in Bergen County to be Designated as Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery

One of only two hospitals in NJ recognized by the Surgical Review Corporation for continuous improvement in care quality and patient safety

Holy Name Medical Center is the first hospital in Bergen County – and one of only two hospitals in New Jersey to be designated as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery. The Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery (COERS) program ensures that the safest, highest quality of care is delivered to robotic surgery patients worldwide.

Holy Name was recognized for demonstrating an unparalleled commitment and ability to consistently deliver safe, effective, evidence–based care. The program is structured to help robotic surgery providers continuously improve care quality and patient safety. To earn the COERS designation, Holy Name Medical Center provided information on all aspects of its robotic surgery program and processes, including data on its surgical outcomes.

With the COERS designation, patients are able to distinguish providers who have met the requirements for delivering high–quality perioperative and long–term follow–up care from those who have not. Insurance companies will also be able to use the designation to identify those committed to excellence.

The COERS program's objective requirements and evaluation processes were developed in conjunction with leading robotic surgeons. A commitment to long-term patient care and success necessitates that the requirements be comprehensive, research–based and verified through a rigorous site inspection.
