Joseph Giles, Administrative Director of Critical Care/ER Services at Holy Name Hospital, of Dumont, has won the 2007 Nursing Spectrum Excellence Awards New Jersey title.
Giles has worked at Holy Name Hospital for the past twelve years. His present role encompasses the ICU, Cardiac Telemetry, the Intermediate Care Unit and Pulmonary Inpatient Services. An all-around role model and mentor to many, Joe is an outstanding nursing professional, a superb teacher and a compassionate caregiver, with an infectious energy and ever-positive outlook.
Some of his accomplishments include having implemented Holy Name Hospitals Rapid Response Team, instituting processes and education to improve central venous catheter infection rates, and ventilator-associated pneumonia reduction initiatives. Giles has also led the cardiac care team to achieve accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers.
Giles will travel to Chicago in October as a finalist in the National Spectrum Management Awards event.
