Holy Name Medical Center's Korean Medical Program Annual Health Festival is slated for September 28, at Holy Name Medical Center's Marian Hall at 718 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This past weekend (September 7 and 8) Holy Name's Laboratory processed the blood tests for 1,000 Korean Americans, the results for which will be returned to patients at the health festival on September 28.
The screening featured 33 different types of blood tests including complete blood count (CBC) Panel, lipid panel, comprehensive metabolic panel, hemoglobin screening (A1c), prostate specific antigen screening (PSA), and hepatitis B antigen, antibody and core antibody. Participants for this screening were uninsured and/or underinsured people who rely on Holy Name's Annual Health Festival for their regular medical check-up. Participants with abnormal test results will be given opportunity to consult with physicians and specialists at the health festival on September 28. Over 60 Korean American physicians in 31 specialties will be present for consultation at the health festival.
In addition to receiving the blood test results, participants may also partake in a range of screening services on September 28, including thyroid ultrasound, prostate exams, depression/dementia screenings, eye exams and more. Health information, and educational material on the topics of colorectal cancer, hypertension, and affordable health care will be provided. Over 1,500 participants are anticipated for the 9/28 event.
