A Walk to Remember at Holy Name Medical Center on Sunday, October 20

Holy Name Medical Center's Bereavement Services has organized a Walk to Remember for families who have experienced the loss of a baby. The walk will be held on Sunday, October 20, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Holy Name Medical Center, 718 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ.

The walk is for any family who has experienced the loss of an infant including miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death. It allows parents and family members to share their grief with others who have had similar experiences. The walk concludes at the hospital's "Garden of Remembrance" where a flowering tree is planted in memory of the deceased babies.

All families, friends, caregivers and professionals whose lives have been touched by the loss of a baby are invited to attend. Light refreshments will follow.

Bereavement Services helps surviving parents and family cope with the grief suffered at the loss of a loved one.

Services include:

• Spiritual/grief counseling
• Pregnancy and Newborn Loss Support Group - meeting the first Tuesday of every month at 8:00pm  at Holy Name Medical Center
• Referrals to community resources
• Walk to Remember - An annual event where parents, health professionals and friends across the United States join together in memory of their lost babies. Trees are planted in the "Garden of Remembrance." All families, friends, caregivers and professionals whose lives have been touched by a loss are welcome to attend this annual event in October.
