Are You Prepared at Home?
In response to forecasts by The National Weather Service that Hurricane Sandy will reach the New York metropolitan area on Sunday night, Holy Name Medical Center began preparations yesterday to ensure the safety and security of patients and employees. Holy Name will stay open and operational 24-hours-a-day, as always, during this weather event, and will remain a healthcare resource for members of the community throughout the duration of the storm.
All departments of the Medical Center, including Villa Marie Claire, HNMC's residential hospice in Saddle River, will be prepared with sufficient staff, medical supplies, food, and emergency kits, and outdoor areas and facilities will be secured to ensure a high level of safety.
Members of the community are encouraged to make preparations of their own. For information about planning for extreme weather, visit the website for the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management at http://www.nj.gov/njoem/plan/hurricanes.html.
