Teaneck, NJ - Holy Name Hospital has officially changed its name to Holy Name Medical Center to more accurately represent the organization and its capabilities. The announcement, made today by President/CEO Michael Maron, is concurrent with the 85th anniversary of Holy Name's founding by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace in 1925.
"Holy Name has evolved in so many ways, that the term 'hospital'which often connotes a common, traditional facilityis no longer applicable to who we are and what we do," explains Mr. Maron. "Our scope of services has increased considerably, we offer leading-edge technology and procedures, we've added off-site locations throughout Bergen County and our medical staff has almost doubled in the last several years and, thanks to the skill and dedication of our staff, we've earned an impressive array of awards for patient care and workplace excellence."
Holy Name Medical Center offers a coherent and comprehensive progression of medical services called the "continuum of care." These include education, early intervention, treatment, rehabilitation and wellness maintenance, from pre-conception through end-of-life.
Mr. Maron added that, although Holy Name has undergone "a metamorphosis" through the decades and particularly, during the last five years, all its defining attributes will not change. "The friendly service and compassionate approach you expect from Holy Name," he says, "the constancy of our mission of outstanding health care for all, an appreciation of our community's cultural diversity and the need to personalize care, and the satisfaction and safety of every patient for whom we are responsible, will always embody the essence of our character and vision."
The expression of Holy Name as a medical center is also meant to promote clarity of purpose to the community. According to Mr. Maron, in an environment where patients enjoy a range of options as to where they may receive their healthcare, "it's important that their perception is consistent with the reality of Holy Name as a leading-edge healthcare choice."
