Teaneck Organizations Join to Improve Emergency Communication

Holy Name Medical Center upgrades radio technology

Teaneck, NJ - Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, NJ, the 200 Club of Bergen County, and Teaneck Township have teamed up to fund the purchase of emergency communication technology.  This technology is fully functional and is providing better radio coverage for emergency personnel while on site at Holy Name.

In a joint effort to enhance response time and efficiency, the three organizations contributed a total of $22,722 for a two-way radio signal booster and internal antenna system at Holy Name Medical Center. The equipment allows Teaneck Police and Ambulance Corps personnel to hear and respond to calls from their dispatchers more efficiently while inside the Medical Center.

The project was coordinated by Chuck Gerity, Assistant Vice President for Emergency Operations and Thomas Rose, Coordinator of the Medical Coordination Center at Holy Name Medical Center; Jack Terhune, President of the 200 Club of Bergen County; and Chief Robert Wilson and Captain Mark Distler of the Teaneck Police Department.

"Now our township's police officers and EMS personnel have the peace-of-mind associated with 100 percent radio coverage within the Medical Center, with signal strength that is consistent and reliable," says Mr. Gerity. "This is an improvement that not only makes life easier for our emergency responders, but ultimately pays dividends for the people in our community."

The 200 Club of Bergen County gives financial and emotion support to Bergen County Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS personnel and their families, in the event of death or serious injury in the line of duty. The organization also provides support in the form of scholarships and special needs appropriations to agencies that serve and protect Bergen County communities.
