MS Center celebrates 25 years of service
Teaneck, NJ - Holy Name Health Care Foundations will be holding its 13th Annual Charity Golf and Tennis Invitational on Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Knickerbocker Country Club, Tenafly, New Jersey. All proceeds will benefit patient care and research at the Holy Name MS Center.
Brett Massingham, PGA Pro Golfer, and Maggie Weder, USGA Women's Amateur, will once again serve as Co-Chairs for this event. Mr. Massingham and Ms. Weder, both living with multiple sclerosis, will offer group golf clinics throughout the day.
The MS Center is celebrating its 25th anniversary while 2010 marks Holy Name Medical Center's 85th year. "The MS Center and the Holy Name Medical Center are celebrating significant anniversaries this year," said Kevin McCarthy, Executive Director of Holy Name Health Care Foundation. "This year's event will be special as we commemorate these major anniversary milestones with two extraordinary individuals who have exhibited great commitment and support to the MS Center for so many years. We are truly fortunate to have Brett and Maggie as co-chairs of our 13th Annual Golf & Tennis Invitational."
Mr. Massingham gained national attention by becoming the only person with MS to qualify and compete in the PGA tour in 2002. Ms. Weder is not only an amateur golf champion who raises funds for the Holy Name MS Center year-round by playing in various tournaments throughout the country, but she is also a decorated armed forces officer.
Golf shotgun start is at 12:30 pm, tennis will begin at 2 pm, and dinner/awards will begin at 5:30 pm. Tickets and sponsorship levels for golf, tennis and dinner are still available.
