Holy Name Hospice Hosts "End-of-Life Doula" Presentation

ospice Program seeks compassionate volunteers for training program

Holy Name Medical Center's Hospice program will host a presentation on the topic of "End-of-Life Volunteer Doula" on November 6, 2014. The speaker will be Henry Fersko-Weiss, LCSW.

An End-of-Life Doula offers compassionate presence, knowing support, caring touch and respite for a dying person and his or her caregivers. Mr. Fersko-Weiss has more than ten years' experience heading Doula volunteer programs.

Holy Name Hospice will be offering a training program for volunteers in its End-of-Life Doula Program in collaboration with Mr. Fersko-Weiss. The training is scheduled to begin by the end of 2014. The November 6 presentation is an opportunity for potential volunteers to learn more about the free training program and to register.
