Holy Name Medical Center is offering free career-building assistance to people who lost their jobs in the Marcal Paper Mill fire.

Changing careers is never easy and Holy Name wants to help those who need to start over in a new field.

The Medical Center has professionals who will provide career-counseling sessions to help write and review resumes, including tips on how to stand out in today's job market. They will also work with individuals to improve interviewing skills, such as how to make a good first impression while navigating those tricky interview questions. Additionally, the Medical Center has a number of open positions to which interested individuals can apply.

"Holy Name's mission to serve our community goes beyond providing medical care. It also means helping our friends and neighbors in their time of need," said Michael Maron, president and CEO. "Assisting individuals who rely on a regular paycheck and have now suddenly lost their jobs due to the fire is just one way we can help during this difficult time."

Manny Gonzalez, Vice President of Human Resources, knows it can be overwhelming to find and start a new job, especially when it's in a completely different field. Taking advantage of career building services can make the journey a bit less intimidating and maybe even a little shorter.

"Career counseling is a vital tool that can help individuals in all types of careers," Gonzalez said. "We are happy to offer this service to any of the Marcal employees who need assistance in transitioning to another job."
