Holy Name Medical Center Named "Best Place to Work in NJ" For Tenth Consecutive Year

May 4, 2015

Holy Name Medical Center (HNMC) has been named a "Best Place to Work in New Jersey" by NJBIZ magazine - making it the only independent hospital in the state to receive this honor 10 years in a row. The rankings were announced during an awards reception and ceremony on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Hilton East Brunswick.

Holy Name has achieved recognition for workplace excellence in the large employer category every year since 2006. This year, Holy Name ranked 10th in the large company category, and #1 in the hospital category. In the past ten years, Holy Name placed five times as #1 among all hospitals in the state.

"Holy Name is honored to be listed among the Best Places to Work in New Jersey," said Michael Maron, President & CEO of Holy Name Medical Center. "This accomplishment speaks to the incredible legacy of Holy Name and reflects the pride and commitment that is unique to our Medical Center. The sense of shared purpose translates to compassionate care and high patient satisfaction. Sincere congratulations to each and every employee as we mark a solid decade as an organization that values excellence on every level."

"More than 2,900 medical, nursing, allied health and non-clinical staff are employed by the Medical Center, which provides a positive working environment for employees at all levels," said April Rodgers, Vice President of Human Resources. "The Medical Center shows its employees how much they are valued not only by offering them benefits and amenities aimed at improving their quality of life, but by empowering them to use their skills and creativity and providing opportunities to advance professionally."

According to NJBIZ, the survey and award program identifies and honors the best places of employment, which benefit the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 100 Best Places to Work in New Jersey. Part one consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This phase was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. Part two consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This phase was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.
