Dr. Vaimakis received her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. She went on to complete her residency in General Surgery at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center in New York City. She then completed her fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery in New York. Dr. Vaimakis performs all of her surgeries using the latest Robotic techniques and has served as a proctor for Intuitive teaching other doctors how to perform Robotic Bariatric surgery.

Dr. Vaimakis has been in practice for over 20 years. She has dedicated her practice to Bariatric Surgery and has completed over 6000 procedures including Robotic Gastric Bypass, Sleeve Gastrectomy, and Revisional Bariatric Surgery. In addition she does Robotic paraesophageal and incisional hernia repair, gallbladder removal and surgery for Reflux disease. More importantly Dr. Vaimakis is a strong believer in after care and support to ensure long term success. She sees all of her patients directly without the use of an NP or PA. She is board certified in Obesity Medicine and this expertise has allowed her to be able to treat patients who may be struggling or have regained weight after bariatric surgery to help them get back on track and reach their goals. Her team includes a full time registered dietician and therapist/health coach.
