Dr. Mendler had the privilege of serving as the Head Team Physician for the U.S. National Team in the 1999 Long Course Triathlon World Championships in Säter, Sweden; as a Team Physician for the New Jersey Gladiators Arena League Football Team; and, alongside many of his Holy Name colleagues, as the assistant physician to the medical director of the 2012 Ironman Triathlon Championships, NYC, a race spanning both the New York and New Jersey sides of the Hudson River. Additionally, Dr. Mendler has served for over ten years as a member on the Sports Medicine Advisory Committee of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association, the primary governing body for high school sports in New Jersey.

Dr. Mendler is a graduate of Bergen Catholic High School, Oradell, NJ.
