About Me:

Dr. Brinkmann is a section head of Breast Surgery at Holy Name. Board-certified in general surgery with a specialty in breast surgery, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Brinkmann collaborates with all members of the Holy Name breast health team in achieving the highest quality surgical results. Her goal is to provide compassionate breast care, in partnership with her patients, to ensure each patient's quality of life.

Dr. Brinkmann was valedictorian of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Southern Methodist University, where she achieved her bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and biomedical engineering. She earned her medical doctorate at Yale University School of Medicine and completed her residency in general surgery at Saint Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in New York City.

After completing her fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago, Dr. Brinkmann was Director of the Highland Park Hospital Breast Center in Illinois and was an assistant professor of surgical oncology at Northwestern's Feinberg School of Medicine before joining Holy Name Medical Center in 2008. A lifelong scholar, she has achieved countless academic awards and recognitions.
