About Me:

Dr. Rosenbaum is the Clinical Director of Hand Surgery. He is fellowship-trained in all aspects of hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow surgery, and board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. After graduating from medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he did an internship in Orthopedic Surgery at SUNY Downstate and Kings County Hospitals in Brooklyn. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Ohio State University, where his case numbers ranked in the top 1% nationwide in hand, wrist, and forearm procedures.

His fellowship training at the renowned Mary S. Stern fellowship in Cincinnati gave him specialized experience in hand, wrist, and elbow fractures and complex trauma, arthritis, arthroscopy, tendon injuries and tendinitis, and emerging techniques such as "wide-awake surgery," which can be performed comfortably in an office under local anesthesia.

His training also encompasses nerve and microvascular surgery of the upper extremity, as well as the non-surgical management of upper extremity problems. Among other topics, Dr. Rosenbaum's research during training focused on techniques to decrease the pain of injections. He has also received specialized training in performing minimally-painful injections.

A former professional baseball player and an avid racquetball player and cyclist, Dr. Rosenbaum has a special interest in athletic hand and elbow injuries, and has cared for upper extremity problems in athletes of all levels, from recreational "weekend warriors" to those competing in the Olympics, the NCAA, the NFL, and the NHL. During his training, he published nine textbook chapters and five journal articles, including one on the treatment of hand injuries in athletes. He produced ten surgical technique instructional videos featured at national meetings, and was awarded with the top prize at the 2019 AAOS Orthopedic Video Theater.
