Millions of individuals in the U.S. have some type of lung (pulmonary) disease, which makes it difficult to breathe. While there are dozens of pulmonary conditions, the most common are chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, pneumonia, emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis, tuberculosis and lung cancer. When all types of lung illnesses are combined, they amount to the third deadliest disease nationwide.
Holy Name Medical Center's board-certified pulmonary clinicians and staff provide advanced diagnostic and treatment services to help patients improve or maintain their quality of life. Many members of the interdisciplinary staff are bilingual, speaking Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, or Russian. The entire staff offers personalized, culturally-sensitive care as well as education about chronic lung diseases.
