Pulmonary Services

Overview

Millions of individuals in the U.S. have some type of lung (pulmonary) disease, which makes it difficult to breathe. While there are dozens of pulmonary conditions, the most common are chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, pneumonia, emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis, tuberculosis and lung cancer. When all types of lung illnesses are combined, they amount to the third deadliest disease nationwide.

Holy Name Medical Center's board-certified pulmonary clinicians and staff provide advanced diagnostic and treatment services to help patients improve or maintain their quality of life. Many members of the interdisciplinary staff are bilingual, speaking Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, or Russian. The entire staff offers personalized, culturally-sensitive care as well as education about chronic lung diseases.

Free valet parking is available for patients and if walking is an issue our volunteer service members will be happy to assist you.

Holy Name patients with pulmonary diseases are eligible to participate in free harmonica classes.

Pulmonary Testing

Holy Name Medical Center's pulmonary staff offers a number of outpatient diagnostic procedures and services that will determine patients' lung status and help them achieve the highest functionality and quality of life. A prescription and appointment are needed.

Most screenings and services are covered by Medicare and private insurance plans. Holy Name's staff can help determine whether services are covered.
