Born in Venezuela, Dr. Bellorin received his medical degree and completed his
first general surgery residency at the Central University of Venezuela and
University Hospital of Caracas. He completed a research fellowship at the
Cleveland Clinic Bariatric Institute in Florida and a second residency in
general surgery at New York-Presbyterian Queens. He completed several
fellowships in minimally invasive, advanced gastrointestinal, metabolic, and
bariatric surgeries at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical
College with rotations at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York
City.
Dr. Melanie Howell earned her medical degree at Tulane School of Medicine in New
Orleans. She completed her general surgery residency at Montefiore Medical
Center in the Bronx, NY, and then a fellowship in bariatric and minimally
invasive surgery at Johns Hopkins Medicine. She also has a master's degree in
pharmacology from Tulane. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons
(FACS) as well as the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery
(ASMBS).
