If you or your baby needs emergency or after-hours care, we're always available at (201) 833-3000.
Our board-certified team, including high-risk specialists, are always onsite 24/7. Our dedicated maternity emergency care unit also provides 24/7 anesthesia coverage and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to care for newborns requiring additional medical attention.
For those born prematurely, critically ill or requiring surgery, our state-of-the-art Level III NICU keeps babies close to their parents without the need for transfer to another facility.
If you think you're in labor, when you arrive at Holy Name, you'll go through a process called triage: A nurse will assess your labor condition and the well-being of your baby.
If you're in active labor with regular contractions that become stronger and closer together, back pain or cramping, diarrhea or nausea, and feeling the need to push, you'll be transferred to a labor, delivery, and recovery room. If not in labor, we'll send you home with instructions on how to monitor your condition. If you're experiencing an OB emergency, a modern and separate OB triage will provide you with swift and appropriate care.
